| In every field of human endeavour we are producing vast amounts of data. Far more than ever before. Finding the information you are looking for and separating it from the surrounding noise has become more difficult. And more important too. You need accurate information delivered quickly. And there is a premium on timely delivery of business-critical information. Infomagnet offers services and develops tools to help you extract the information you need from all the data around it. Two general purpose tools are available online - Infomagnet.info and Global-i. For bespoke systems to visualise the important information for your business, we offer consulting and design services. Our approach is based on scientific principles of observation, measurement and testing prior to design. The result is a system that works to extract and deliver information from the ever swelling sea of data that surrounds us all. |

Designing immersive systems to deliver information We are all capable of absorbing truly vast amounts of information in a very short space of time. Many everyday activities, driving a car, shopping in a supermarket are examples of this. Fast-changing visual, aural and tactile sensations allow us to take in huge amounts of information and act upon what's important. It is within environments where we use our perceptions of movement in three dimensional space as well touch and sound that we are able to distinguish important differences and changes. We call these immersive environments. Infomagnet design such environments for organisations whose business relies on reacting to information. Infomagnet works with partner organisations to study information delivery systems - particularly the computer systems we use at work. We use non-intrusive observation techniques such as eye-tracking to see how users operate and react to your systems. We spot error patters, tiredness and other behavioural indicators - and we design immersive environments to improve the responsiveness and efficiency of people who use computer systems at work.
