EPOS
EPOS (electronic point of sale) systems are commonly used in shops where a physical transaction takes place - they typically combine the cash register, credit card terminal and stock control. Sometimes EPOS systems do more than this - CRM (customer relationship management), membership systems, hotel room booking, restaurant and bar management, inventory management and planning......
But what happens when you want to sell the same goods on the internet and in one or more locations? At the very least, you need common stock control. When the last item sells in one of your stores, you want it to be immediately shown as out of stock on your website. If someone books your hotel room for next weekend over the phone, you want to ensure that it isn't double booked one minute later over the internet.
To do this requires EPOS integration. We make your website and your back end systems talk to each other. Infomagnet is one of only a handful of companies to offer Drupal integration with EPOS systems. By choosing Drupal for your website, not only is it a good choice but you have the flexibility to choose the most appropriate back end systems to your business. This avoids the technology and supplier lock-in that is typical when you get a combined EPOS and E-commerce solution. We prefer to work with open source EPOS systems, particularly those supplied by In2 Technology, but we're happy to carry out systems integration with any good back-end system.

Selling yarn and haberdashery online sounds like a simple business - but it's very competitive and that's not surprising. After all, yarns, patterns and fabrics are ideal items to sell online - easy to package, light weight, unbreakable in transit - and in demand.
